Want to run away to the circus?
Well - for an afternoon.
City of Stories is giving away 4 tickets to the "completely infectious" circus performance of 'The Hogwallops'. This much in demand show is presented by the five-strong multinational cast of Norwich's own Lost in Translation Circus, and has toured extensively in the UK and Europe. It's been a big hit with audiences and critics alike for two years running at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, and now it comes to the extra-special Big Top Tent in Chapelfield Gardens at part of Norwich's Circus 250 celebrations. The tickets are for the matinee performance of the show, at 2.30pm on Saturday 14th of July, so is ideal as a great family day out!
About The Hogwallops
Inspired by The Twits by Roald Dahl, and Ettora Scola’s film Bruti, Sporchi e Cattivi (Ugly, Dirty and Bad), The Hogwallops is a chaotic, colourful treat for the eyes and ears. The hilarious family’s antics create a crazy home that resembles an adventure playground ruled by riotous and anarchic fun! Everyday activities become triggers for mayhem, and simple tasks like hanging out the washing become a tangle of swinging, flying bodies and fabric. Dinner-time becomes a teasing game of animalistic juggling and baking takes on dangerous proportions that would appal Mary Berry as the household furniture is precariously stacked and balanced on the roof!
Expect plenty of clowning, thrilling circus skills and slapstick comedy, all within the incredible setting of Norwich's very own circus tent. Watch the trailer here!
Adult £12, Concession/child £7.50 (includes admin fee). Show lasts 60 minutes.
