Though we all love being cooked for, sometimes it’s lovely to be able to prepare your own food with time to spare whilst on a trip away. So here’s our round up of 13 (a baker’s dozen, if you will!) great self-catering cottages and apartments, all with kitchens in which to whip up a tasty meal made with local produce!
For an amazing, oh-so-central Norwich apartment look no further. Just off King Street, this apartment has a fully equipped kitchen plus many other home comforts including a dishwasher (no one wants to be washing up on their hols), and is available for long weekends, mid-week trips or longer stays.
Enjoy a combination of comfort and cosiness at this lovely cottage, situated in the quaint South Norfolk village of East Harling. With delightful open beams, off-road parking and antique furniture, this is a great base for a relaxing stay.

This lovely secluded cottage is located on the grounds of The Old Rectory (a 4* GOLD restaurant with rooms) and has a fitted kitchen for preparing some culinary treats, a private sun terrace, shared outdoor pool (if you dare) and is situated only 2 miles from Norwich!
You’ll have a choice of 8 charming cottages, each with their own unique features and character. Whatever the size, and whether you fancy views across the farm or a ground-floor cottage suitable for wheelchair users, there’s plenty of choice here!
Barn conversions with a luxury twist! There are two to choose from; Nutmeg sleeps two and Plum Tree sleeps six. Each have well-equipped kitchens too; check out our blog post about East View Farm Cottages.
For rest and relaxation this is perfect: a picturesque barn conversion right on the outskirts of Aylsham, a lovely market town which is only half an hour’s drive from Norwich.
