 After a successful first year, Volta returns on the third Thursday of each month for a vibrant evening of poetry & literature at the Birdcage. An eclectic line up of performers will be performing, plus there are open mic slots available, for any fledgling writers out there looking for the chance to spread their wordsmith wings....

OPEN will be playing host to two hours of all the Who's hits and classics, including Won't Get Fooled Again, My Generation, Pinball Wizard, Amazing Journey, Sparks, Who Are You, Substitute, 5.15, Squeeze Box, Behind Blue Eyes, The Seeker, I Can See For Miles and Love Reign O'er Me.

Everything will be performed by top musicians who have worked with Pete Townshend, Roger Daltrey, and John Entwistle, David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Foo Fighters and The Small Faces.

Norwich Arts Centre Artist-in-Residence, Will Teather, exhbits a wide range of his recent works at the venue as he continues to experiment and explore new journeys within the medium of painting. His work is surreal and dreamlike, described as "theatre, storytelling and art, woven into a single painting" by Green Pebble Publishing.

An evening with an astronaut at the UEA!

Wednesday 24th January, 7pm, £15 for adults, £9 for children

Ever wondered what it's like to go into space? Find out with one of the most experienced astronauts, Michael Foale. Mike has clocked over 373 days in space, flown on six Space Shuttle missions and a Soyuz, and commanded the International Space Station. He was the first Briton to perform a spacewalk, during which he saved the Hubble Space Telescope. Mike was also responsible for saving the Russian Mir Space Station when it was tumbling out of control and he was recently inducted into the United States Astronaut Hall of Fame. Head over to the UEA on Wednesday evening, to listen to him talk about these experiences and share his stories and videos with you at this special event. 

 

 

 

COMING TO VISIT?

Greater Anglia has Advance fares from £10 one way between London Liverpool Street and Norwich. Trains run every 30 minutes. Greater Anglia also serves Colchester, Ipswich and Diss on the Norwich line. Direct trains also run from Cambridge.

East Midlands Trains runs services from Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.

Flights into Norwich served from Edinburgh, Manchester, Exeter, Aberdeen, Jersey*, Guernsey* and Amsterdam.
