This weekend sees Norfolk open up with a host of events, workshops and tours of some of the best and most hidden buildings in the county - all part of Heritage Open Days. If you haven’t booked there are absolutely loads of drop-in events to choose from across Norwich and Norfolk such and entry to everything is absolutely FREE!
Visit; The City Club in Colegate on Saturday and Sunday, The Guildhall, The Museum of Norwich at the Bridewell, Norwich Castle, The John Jarrold Printing Museum and so many more. There’s also a wonderful new event this year on Sunday, 10am until 6pm – Wymondham Vintage Day, where the whole town will be stepping back in time with vintage bus rides, classic vehicles, music and lots of stalls and tea and cake – it sounds like its going to be a really fab day.
I visited BeWILDerwood in the summer holidays which is always a huge treat but this weekend the treat gets better as on Sunday they are letting all Grandparents in FREE – as they say themselves its “a soopa doopa chance to spoil your elders!” I totally agree. There are *Up to two free grandparents per paying person.
Our friends at Fairhaven Woodland & Wildlife Garden has a fantastic Dog Day on Sunday also, from 11:00 to 3.30pm. The Doggy day for all the family features a fun Dog Show, dog agility activities, demonstrations, doggy stalls, food and drink and lots of games for you and your four-legged friend. The event is raising money for PAT Dogs (Pets as Therapy). £2 adult, £1 child, dogs free. £1.50 dogs entry charge per category in the Dog Show. (does not include garden entry).
Next week at OPEN there is a chance to see Roddy Woomble & Band on Thursday 15th from 7.30pm – tickets are £13. Roddy many be familiar to many thousands of music fans as the front man in the Scottish rock band Idlewild, Roddy Woomble is also a celebrated solo songwriter & performer.
