Plan the perfect New Year’s break, whether you fancy partying in style or enjoying a sit-down dinner – or both! Here are our top ways to bring in 2017 right here in Norfolk:
THE FRITTON ARMS: NEW YEAR’S PARTY
The Fritton Arms is throwing a great New Year’s Eve celebration in their amazing location on the banks of Fritton Lake, in the sprawling and stunning Somerleyton Estate – what a great view to bring 2017 in with! Start the evening with canapés followed by a five-course banquet-style menu. Then there’ll be a live band and casino followed by fireworks to round off the evening and a midnight feast to fuel all that dancing! It’s a black tie event so dress to impress…
7.30pm – 2am, tickets: £90 per person. Call 01493 484008 for availability and to book.
Celebrate the New Year with a touch of luxury at this country hotel, which is nestled in 300 acres of beautiful countryside. For New Year’s Eve they’re hosting the party to end all parties in their Winter Wonderland Marquee. There’ll be champagne and canapes on arrival followed by a four-course festive meal, entertainment from a live band and a disco, plus – for those who need something to soak up the bubbly – bacon rolls at 12.30am! Book your space now to ensure entrance. Tickets £89 per person; visit their website or call 01603 759393 to book.
If you fancy making a weekend of it (and you’ll be glad you did when you only have to stumble a short distance to you room!) then why not book Barnham Broom’s NYE Party Break? Enjoy all the fun of the New Year’s Eve Party plus a one-night stay with Afternoon Tea and use of the Health & Fitness facilities, all from £199 per person sharing. Upgrade to 2 nights away with an extra night’s bed and breakfast on either 30 December or 1 January, from an additional £69 per person sharing – this will make it a real break away! UPDATE: The Party Break is now fully booked.
CELEBRATE AT THE NORFOLK MEAD
Celebrate New Year’s Eve in the Norfolk Mead’s lovely Georgian Room or main restaurant. The Mead (as we call it) is situated on the edge of the Broads in beautiful Norfolk countryside just a few miles from Norwich. Enjoy a six-course sit down meal, including cheese and coffee, plus canapés on arrival and fireworks at midnight! The menu looks scrumptious and tickets are £97.50 per person.
If you want to celebrate in style but don’t fancy eating before you dance, then why not enjoy celebrations in their Garden Room instead, with a glass of prosecco on arrival, canapes and a DJ to entertain you. You’ll still get to enjoy their fireworks display at midnight, all for £35 per person.
Tickets must be pre-booked; call 01603 737531 for availability.
This is an excellent option for families who fancy celebrating during that lull between Christmas and New Year – why should it always be spent just sitting on the sofa, after all? Enjoy comfy accommodation, four meals a day for each full day, live evening and late night entertainment, activities and use of the extensive sports and leisure facilities. It’s all included as part of Potters Resort's great value break on Wednesday 28th December for two nights.
Prices from £279 for adults, £209 for 9-15 year olds, £179 for 2-8 year olds and under 2’s are just £20 – visit their website or call 01502 730345 to book.
Join The Library in Norwich for a celebration that’s anything but quiet! Book your tickets for The Library’s New Year’s Eve party; they’ll be serving their A La Carté menu until 9pm with a balloon drop at midnight and their resident DJ providing the tunes so guests can dance right through until 2am!
To reserve your spot just pay £10 deposit per person - call 01603 616606 - and get ready to dance!
