Pasadena Roof Orchestra 600x400

Five Christmas Shows...

This December Norwich Playhouse are putting on not one but five Christmas shows, starting at the beginning of December and winding through to the New Year. Each is unique in its subject and style, covering everything from Christmas hits to festive comedy. The Playhouse is one of our favourite theatrical venues to be entertained in, so we think seeing all five wouldn’t go amiss!

Its beginning...600x400

Start off December with well-known local vocalist Joe Ringer and his band, and settle down for an evening of singalong tunes to entertain and delight every age. Be transported to the Winter Wonderland inside Norwich Playhouse as you’re treated to an “unforgettable display of sensational singing, dazzling dancing and masterful musicianship”. Covering everything from Michael Buble to classic carols, this is bound to get you in the Christmas spirit!

Tuesday 6 – Thursday 8 December, 7.30pm. Tickets £19.

And now for something completely different! One of Britain’s most popular touring groups, The Locrian Ensemble, take to the Norwich Playhouse stage to perform their amazing renditions of festive favourites, including string medleys of those Christmas tunes you’re bound to recognise, some carols, and a few surprises! It’s set to be a truly magical evening.

Friday 9 December, 7.30pm. Tickets £19.50.

Lock in Christmas

Where else can you see a show which is part dance, part gig and part pantomime? The Lock In Christmas Carol is a story full of musical comedy and ridiculous but hugely entertaining laughs! This is bound to be quite unlike anything you’ve seen before - The Demon Barbers can’t fail to entertain any age with their eccentric style of performance. Prepare to see some crazy clog dancing too!

Saturday 10 December, 7.30pm. Tickets £16.50 full, £14.50 concessions.

If you go down to the woods tonight - or preferably Norwich Playhouse – you’ll find yourself enchanted by this magical show full of fairy-tale characters. Suitable for ages 10+, this show is bound to enthral and excite, with plenty of strange and unsettling occurrences… so, do you dare go Into The Woods this Christmas?

Tuesday 13 – Saturday 17 December, various times (check website). Tickets £20 full, £18 concessions, £16 for matinee seats.

Pasadena Roof Orchestra 600x400

For fans of vintage music and dance, a night listening to the Pasadena Roof Orchestra is bound to be your perfect evening! Having been performing for 47 years now, they definitely know how to re-create the sounds of the 1920’s and 30’s with real panache, bringing alive this amazing era from inside the Norwich Playhouse. Certainly ideal for some post-Christmas fun - and the popularity of their date on 6 January means there's been a new date added for Friday 3 February!

Friday 6 January / Friday 3 February, 7.30pm. Tickets £20 full, £18 concessions.

Tickets for all shows are available on the Norwich Playhouse website or by calling their box office on 01603 598598.
