As the frontman of two of Europe’s leading vintage dance music ensembles performing today – Monsieur Viellefon’s Orchestra and The Hot Club – French singer and guitarist Benoit Viellefon is a hugely in-demand entertainer who, along with his orchestra, have performed at some very high profile gigs including The Royal Albert Hall, Glastonbury’s jazz stage, the Royal Wedding of William and Kate and many more. Benoit Viellefon actually performed with his orchestra here in Norwich on a separate occasion, 4 years ago, as part of the Norfolk & Norwich Festival in 2011, and wowed audiences then (read a review of that performance), so we’re incredibly excited to see them return to the city.
Benoit and his orchestra will bring plenty of nostalgic tunes to OPEN along with an abundance of charm and panache, performing uplifting and catchy tunes from the 1920s, ‘30s and ‘40s as well as a few original numbers too! And this isn’t just an evening of music – there’s plenty more to envelop yourselves in during this special night, including a cocktail on arrival, Christmas Dinner, casino tables, a vintage photo booth and, of course, plenty of dancing if you want to show off your moves (there’s a licensed bar if you need a bit of Dutch courage to get up on the dance floor!) Make sure you dress to impress, as this is bound to be a ‘glamorous affair’!
