5 Things to Do This Week

This is the week to really get involved in the city - from English Tourism Week, to a real-real-time-real-clues detective mystery in Cathedral Quarter!


The very last of FREE Events for English Tourism Week
Weekend of 23rd – 25th of March


Until this Saturday you can catch the last few events around the city for English Tourism Week (and they’re free, too!). You can catch a free City Sightseeing Bus Tour  on the 23rd of March, a fascinating walk through our historic city on Friday 23rd at 1.30pm, and Saturday 24th at 11am, and a very special afternoon tea (plus cocktails) at The Maid’s Head Hotel until Sunday.

Comedy fans will have seen Tanyalee Davis on Live at the ApolloThe John Bishop Show and Channel 4’s The Last Leg where she hilariously rebuffed a misguided Jim Davidson. Tanyalee, who is 3 ft 6 inches, jokes that she is the Ferrari of comedy: low to the ground and kind of racy!

Star Wars go to John Lewis
Saturday 24th March – 10am until 4pm

Yes, you heard right. Darth Vader and company will be heading to John Lewis in Norwich, for a Star Wars themed day of Easter Events. You’ll be able to meet the characters, hear live music, see fashion shows and demonstrations, plus there will be a range of activities on offer for children!



Casefile Mystery – Appearance of the Obeli
Cathedral Quarter – 10am until 4pm

A family learn the shocking truth behind the mystery in Basingstoke

This looks amazing. If you like sleuthing and have always wanted to solve your own mystery then this is exactly for you. Players (in teams of 2 -6) will be asked to examine the casefile, hunt down clues, question real live witnesses and solve ingenious puzzles. The amateur sleuths will be taken on a journey of discovery around the historic Tombland area as they investigate a mystery that would test even the great Mr Holmes.

Fun, interactive, and certainly different, the Casefile is a one-day event you can’t miss! There are prizes to be won too (so dust off your fancy dress!) Visit the VisitNorwich website  for more information, and discounted tickets!

Spring Fling at Holkham Hall
Saturday 24th & Sunday 25th March, 10am – 5pm

Spring Fling

Wave goodbye to winter and celebrate spring! Join the beautiful, coastal Holkham Hall for their ‘1950s America’ inspired weekend at the Beach Café. There will be fun fairground rides, a live singer and all your favourite stateside snacks from hotdogs and milkshakes to doughnuts and candy floss.

Greater Anglia has Advance fares from £10 one way between London Liverpool Street and Norwich. Trains run every 30 minutes. Greater Anglia also serves Colchester, Ipswich and Diss on the Norwich line. Direct trains also run from Cambridge.

East Midlands Trains runs services from Liverpool, Manchester and Nottingham.

Flights into Norwich served from Edinburgh, Manchester, Exeter, Aberdeen, Jersey*, Guernsey* and Amsterdam.
