This week we’ve got some Christmas Treets, a pop up for all you ve-gannets, or an orchestral performance that will tug the heart strings (you’ll just have to compose yourself).
Plus an event about puns.
Head down to The Forum to see them switch on their magnificent Christmas tree, inside this beautiful glittering glass building. The tree’s lights will be switched on with the help of a character from Norwich Theatre Royal’s panto, Sleeping Beauty.
Each year the family team from Taverham create a beautiful display for everyone to enjoy at The Forum, while raising awareness of their chosen charities, The Hamlet and NANSA. The perfect way to punctuate a day in the city Christmas shopping!
Free to attend
The perfect Christmas night out for groups and co-workers!
Pundemonium! is a hilarious game show full of punishing linguistic challenges designed to put your (egg)noggin to the test. Join Norwich Arts Centre for competitive wordplay in this groan-off with guest pundits drawn from Norwich’s finest wordsmiths including performers, comedians, poets, live artists, and - of course - a Guest Dad, competing alongside members of the public.
Trust us, it’ll be a cracker and Yule love it. No-el kidding.

This event forgets turkey, and instead puts the vegetables centre stage.
Launching OPEN’s Vegan Pop-Up Restaurant, this is an evening of food and entertainment, transforming the traditional Christmas menu and putting the spotlight on vegetables.
The evening starts with a cookery demonstration from recipe-developer Sara Matthews, who will be transforming a traditional festive recipe, plus answering any questions you may have. This will be followed by mocktails, and a two-course festive plant-based, gluten free dinner served with refreshments.
Recipe sheets for the demonstration will be available so you can recreate the menu at home, to wow your friends and family over the festive season!
Price: £20 (adv) + booking fee
Escape the hustle and bustle of the city and take a walk down to the Playhouse, where you can expect homeware, plants, Christmas decorations and fun presents for everyone, including yourself!
A professional Gift-Wrapping service will also be available (so no excuses for those of you who are even considering tin foil). Plus, after you’ve explored the Pop Up Shop, warm up with a hot chocolate (or something a little stronger) at the Playhouse Bar next door.
Free entry, browsers encouraged, card & cash accepted.
Mahler: Symphony No.9 in D major
Norwich Philharmonic continues its Mahler cycle with the wonderfully heart-wrenching 9th Symphony, his last complete symphony. As the ailing composer mourned his daughter’s untimely death and approached his own, the symphony is a meditation on mortality, transfused with awe at the beauty and wonder of life. Described as overwhelmingly life-affirming, this promises to be a very special musical experience and, judging by the sell-outs of their previous Mahler performances, fans of the composer will want to book early to ensure they get a ticket.
